I’m not sure what the analysis is pending on…. Maybe I don’t want to know. Looks like the ghostbusters came…. and lost.

Wind Power, originally uploaded by Static Sparks.

An interesing windfarms in eastern Washington State. The caretaker let me go out and shoot around the windmills and gave me a little info about them. He said that the blades are 60 feet long each, the tip speed is about 120 mph, and that the center housing that holds the blades is roughly the size of a freightliner truck with a full sleeper cab… Nice to know if I’m ever tired around a windmill ;-)

Home Style Tacos!, originally uploaded by Static Sparks.

Open Mon-Fri, this little 3D taco truck has all the trimmings. Wonderful home-style tacos right out of the side window on old route 66, I just love trekking across the “Old Route” and seeing all the great retro stuff.

Buster in his natural element., originally uploaded by Static Sparks.

Out on the trail in the Ozark-St. Francis national forest near Tontitown. We go out here to some really cool rocks that you can drive to within a half mile of and then bushwack the rest of the way… no trails or markers.

Ozark Green, originally uploaded by Static Sparks.

I think this should be a new Crayola color “Ozark Green”…. A lot of these creeks in the ozarks have this brilliant emerald green tint. This is the Buffalo River near Jasper in the rain. It was a very cold, wet, and windy day to hike in the ozarks, but a great day for photos! I was really surprised with all of the flooding that the Buffalo is still clear.

Beaver Dam, originally uploaded by Static Sparks.

No, not a real Beaver! This is actually the Army Corps of Engineers hydroelectric dam across the White River that forms Beaver Lake in Northwest Arkansas. It was built from 1960-1966, and since they created a cold-water river below the dam, trout were planted making for a very nice fishery! I’m not sure how many times the flood gates have been open; the last time was in 2008 and it’s a very rare occurance. When we heard they had opened them, we jumped in the truck and ran up to have a look. Shot some pics in the spitting rain while dodging the lightning bolts… loads of fun!

Mustang, originally uploaded by Static Sparks.

One of the coolest models of a P-51 Mustang I have seen! It’s made of license plates and old mustang car parts. We saw it at the Explore Museum in Wichita, KS.. a really cool place to go if you get a chance.
